Solaratech supply and install solar panels, solar energy and car chargers. We are based in Croydon and cover all of London and the South East.

If we were able to harness the sunlight that strikes across the earth's surface every 90 minutes, we would have enough energy to power the entire world for a year.

Whilst no one would suggest that we try and do that, solar panels on a house, even in the UK, can provide a significant contribution to the household's energy.

Photovoltaic (PV) panels convert sunlight into electrical energy by concentrating it and the energy can then be used to generate electricity or can be stored in batteries or thermal storage.

Solar energy is quite simply - light (electromagnetic radiation) - emitted by the Sun.

The amount of solar radiation that reaches the earth differs depending on tne time of year and location.

Photovoltaics (PV) is one type of solar energy technology and concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) is another.

Photovoltaics are utilised in solar panels. When the sun shines onto a solar panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel. This energy creates electrical charges that move in response to an internal electrical field in the cell, causing electricity to flow. This system is mostly used in domestic environments.

Concentrating Solar-Thermal Power Basics (CSP) systems use mirrors to reflect and concentrate sunlight onto receivers which collect solar energy, converting it to heat which is then used to produce electricity or stored. This system is mostly used in power plants.

These solar energy systems are then integrated into homes, businesses, and existing electrical grids with varying mixtures of traditional and other renewable energy sources.

Solar energy will help to reduce your electric bills, and generate back-up power when combined with storage (batteries) and can even contribute back to the national power grid.

Solaratech are a new company whose primary focus is the installation of domestic solar power in residential homes. Headed by Richard, we have extensive experience in building and construction as well as in solar power installation. We supply and install solar panels, solar energy systems and even car chargers.
